A shout out to all the Dads!

Happy Father’s Days to all the amazing dads out there!

We all know Father’s Day is a celebration honouring fathers but did you know where it originated? A quick google search confirmed that it was first proposed by Sonora Dodd in Washington in 1909 and started from a memorial service, whereas a young woman she was sat in church listening to a Mother’s Day sermon. She decided she wanted to honor and designate a day for her dad William Jackson Smart. Her mother had died during childbirth and her father had taken responsibility to single handedly raise the newborn and his other five children. Very touching story!
