During construction we put in a request for footpaths to be installed at one of our disability homes in Warwick - thank you City of Joondalup for your swift response!

The power of accessible footpaths cannot be underestimated, especially in the lives of those who rely on them. At our disability homes in Warwick, where we have two side by side SDA’s, there was originally no footpath on the street at all. When we put in the request for something to be done, we had no idea of the beautiful ripple effect it would create. This has greatly improved their quality of life, allowing them to enjoy the outdoors and engage in activities they love with greater ease. The newly installed footpath has not only improved the mobility of our residents within the local community but has also fostered meaningful social interactions between the two homes. Residents are now able to easily commute in their wheelchairs between the two homes, fostering some wonderful friendships and opportunities. One resident's family member recently shared their joy, saying, "I know he has particularly been enjoying the opportunity to visit with the residents next door and socialise." These words are just so wonderful to hear and the heart-warming connections are an absolute testament to the impact of community collaboration.
