Bikes and a little bibliotherapy
What have bikes and bibliotherapy got to do with eachother? And what is bibliotherapy anyway? Well, we all know about the importance of physical activity, and how much more engaging it is if we get to do it with like-minded others and for a worthy cause. So for the bikers among us, make a diary note to connect with your tribe at the City of Vincent’s Bike Swap Meet on Saturday 10th October 2015. You could even set up a seller’s spot for $10 to help the Bikes for Humanity charity. A few days later on Wednesday 14th October, you can join the Ride to Work Community Breakfast at the Oxford Street Reserve. We really love how the City of Vincent supports and promotes cycling as an alternative mode of transport and as a healthy, fun activity to be enjoyed with others. So what about this bibliotherapy? For those of us who love the idea of riding, but are more inclined to get our head in a good book or ten, check out the latest service on offer from The School of Life in Melbourne. If your reading material is a bit same-same, and you want some new directions, then perhaps a one hour Skype session with a bibliotherapist (your literary personal trainer!) will fit the bill. Imagine having an inspiring and enhanced tailor-made reading list just for you – matched to your unique needs! This would also make a great gift idea for friends who love “…the transformative nature of books” (Killham, 2015, School of Life). So bikes and books – either way, some great leisure options peeps!
